Is it normal for me not to be around family and friends bc im not where want to be in life. I dont know why?

I feel this way. It seems like all my friends are getting married moving out on their own and getting their lives together. I'm lagging behind.I mean I have my bachelors degree and all but I didnt exactly land a good job and I still live at home at 25. I feel really dissappointed so I really started straying away. Is this normal. I know that once I get myself together I might change, but I cannot be around anyone until I do. Has anyone else experienced this? Just wondering if this is a normal feeling?

That is such a wonderful thing you have done by giving Otis a home. Please don't get rid of him. I live in a town that adopted an Ordinance that gives them the right to trap all the feral and stray cats and euthanize them and they have been doing that. It breaks my heart. I formed a Organization and solicited the help of Alley Cat Allies to try to help us save our cats. I was feeding a colony of 10 that is now down to 2 and I fear for their lives every day. It sounds to me like Otis is warming up to you slowly which is all you can expect from him. It is hard for us to imagine what they go through on the streets. Do you know how many people hate cats? I am finding out real fast by working with our problem. They do all kinds of things to harm them and I'm sure poor little Otis went through some of those things at the hand of a human being. It's going to take time. I have had strays that took as much as a year to warm up but you just have to let them go. That should attest to the fact that cats have feelings and make you love him all the more. As far as your new kitty goes I think you should put her with Otis. Please don't punish him because he is frightened by her. They may spat for a while but believe me when I tell you this - they WILL eventually love each other and you will see them cuddling up and sleeping or washing each other. You must take Otis out of isolation immediately because you are only making matters worse. Don't fear for Vera. She has claws and when she needs to she will use them. As far as training Otis. Have you tried the squirt bottle filled with water? That works with 99.9% of all cats for training them what not to do or where not to go. Well I've said enough and I surely hope you'll take my advice and give it time and please remember Rome wasn't built in a day. Patience prevails.

I would recommend fostering those animals in need of a home. You foster them until they get a home (via The Human Society.) Which is a temporary home. You just give them food and water. The humane society will take care of shots, etc. It is an amazing way to help. And you should try one, then you can foster several at a time. Not just dogs, also cats, rabbits, etc.

ok there is this mutt (not sure what it is) that has found itsway to my parents house. There is a lot strays and abused animals around our house so my mom keeps dog food and cat food out at all times. Her owner knows shes there but doesnt come and get her. Shes been at my moms for about 2 months now. She goes home one day a week, but doesnt stay long. Shes had several litters, you can see her bones even though she eats. And needs alittle medical care. Why cant our telescopes see further than the Hubble Ultra Deep Field?

Your question is a tad misleading. The issue of being unable to resolve images further out is one of technology, but that doesn't only apply to distance, indeed we could build (we are building the Webb space telescope, something of a successor in the infrared spectrum with a much larger objective mirror) a larger telescope than hubble, and thus gather more light from whatever we observe with it, thus gaining higher resolution. But the question of why we can't see further than we do, not just without clarity, but not at all, is much more interesting. Because the universe is expanding, and its expansion is accelerating, points very distant from us move away from us with great speed. The speed is so great at truly vast distances that the objects move away faster than the speed of light (the expansion of space is the one thing known to outpace light) and can never reach us for observation. Indeed, if Hubble's constant (the recession rate per distance) remains, well, constant, eventually fewer galaxies will be visible than can be observed now.

How do I introduce my new dog to my (somewhat) aggressive kitty?

I'm about to get a new dog, and I've been making a LOT of preparations before I bring her home. The new dog (a 5 1/2 y/o female pug) is really good with kids and other animals, so I can't see having more than a few minor problems with her. My cat is a 4 y/o male (neutered) stray that I adopted from a family member as a kitten. We've had other cats live with him, and he never once fought, but ever since one ran off and the other died (leaving him alone), he has been more than a little aggressive every time I try to introduce a new pet, even another cat. What should I do with this stray dog?

I found a stray dog walking down the street and it kept following me. So I opened my door and it got in my car. I saw that the dog was neutered with no collar and took it home. I gave it food and water and tried to take it out to go to the bathroom, but it just kept sniffing. So, I tried to lightly pull it back into my house and it tensed up and stood its ground outside. I thank God for the new little baby that will be added to our family in about 7 months! I am thankful for my 4 year old son, and my 2 year old daughter as well and the wonderful husband that God gave me. Someone stole my cat and I can't stop crying?

I'm 13 and she is(was) so close to me and I love her dearly.. We found her as a stray 1 year ago (actually she found us- she came up to our doorstep starved and cold) and we took her in.. she's an indoor-outdoor cat and regularly went outside daily (I live in an apartment on the second story) and she always came back and was allowed to go back down again. Pregnant cat wont stop over grooming.?

I found a stray cat about 12 weeks ago, which we thought was pregnant, she hasnt had them yet as the vet said she had 3 weeks left of her pregnancy, 4 weeks have since passed, and no kittens! The problem is she is over grooming herself constantly! which is making her skin sore, and scabby. Are there any treatments i can buy to help this? I think my adopted cat is pregnant...more inside?

I adopted a stray cat from craigslist about 2 months ago, when we got her she seemed overweight. She has continued to gain weight and is touchy when I try to feel her belly, her nipples are somewhat more pronounced but she is also extremely long haired which makes it difficult to tell. She seems lethargic today, is not eating much and has vomited some undigested food up. I know cats average a 63 day gestational period, but I am not completely convinced she is pregnant. It is older than the other kittens so we know it is not our cats kitten and we had also counted them when they were born. Unforutently SA is extremly hard to treat, and its not only a matter of training. If extreme cases antianxeity meds are needed. The best way to deter this behavior is actually getting the dog to focus on something else while you are gone. Obviously the kong alone wont help. Is there a room or area of the house you can confine him in instead of a crate? In some cases crates can cause more issues because the dog feels helpless inside it. If you have a room it may help. (You can also try a bigger crate or maybe one of those outdoor kennels/play pens (but inside) , depending on how much space you have, just something BIGGER and less confining). Fill the 'room' with special toys and treats, things he only gets when you are 'gone'. Hiding them verses leaving them out in the open. Keep his bed in this room, its prefered that this is a room he spends time in even when you are home, like a bedroom or den, or so on... That way its not much different. Start off by shutting the door on him when you are home, if hes comfortable in there he wont react much. Keep him in there for a few mins at a time, slowing increaseing. At this point you can use the special treats, whether you are gone or not. This way he doesnt assoicate being locked in solely with you leaveing, its just the place where all the goodies are hiding. When you put him in simply close the door when hes in there, and when you come home just open it as if you never left. This may or may not help, and it seems you've tried similar things. The only other advise I have is maybe getting incontact with an animal behaviorist and your vet. This is a situation best oberved in person and treated in person. It may take a long time. Im hoping ive helped you at least alil.

Why is my cat too scared to go outside unless im with her?

I adopted her when she was about 8 or 10 weeks old from an animal shelter and she is now a year old. I've been allowing her to go outside since I got her, however when she does go into the backyard its only about 10 feet from the door and no farther. Very rarely I see her sneak into the neighbors yard but she stays right by the gate and comes back when I call her. Why does my dog try to kill (or help) my kitten?

I have a kitten, and have HAD kittens before, that my female, fixed, 11 year old dog has tried to kill. I'm not sure if she is actually TRYING to kill the kittens, or she thinks she's helping them. My first set of kittens were just old enough to stop nursing off their stray mum, and it was winter, so I decided to slowly take away the kittens as not to make her panic. She never noticed, and the kittens were fine. They drank water and ate normal food. I left the kittens out in the living room one day, only to come home and find my dog had killed them all. She had bit the heads off. Now I witnessed her doing this with my new kitten, but all she did was try and GENTLY pick the kitten up in her teeth, and as she picked her up I caught her and made her drop it. It's unhurt and fine, but I'm not sure, does she view the kitten as a baby of her own, or possibly does she think it's an injured, orphaned animal and she wants to help? Or does she want to kill it off for sport? We have a few full grown felines and she has never tried to hurt them or anything. In fact, she'll often let one of the cats sleep next to her. She's never attacked or been attacked by our cats.

I've always wanted to try walking or running early in the morning say 5 or 6. I would especially like to take my dog with me since he doesn't get out much, which is awful I know. Stray pregnant cat still hasnt had her kittens!?

My 6 month old kitten I believe sprayed once before we got him neutered. Will he continue to spray?

We adopted a stray at around 4-5 months the vet guessed. We were told we had to wait till he was 6 months before he was neutered. I noticed he sprayed just before his appointment to get neutered. Catching a stray/feral cat?

In my friends neighborhood, there are literally hundred of cats. She lives in a townhouse area, and the cats love to go into the crawl spaces, they live there. The cats will bathe in the sun on peoples porches during the day, and they are always really scared when approached. Except one cat, which is really more of a kitten, that just kinda walks away, he/she doesn't sprint away like the others. This cat, which I have personally named Henry, is skinny. What's odd about it is that the cats will sit on one persons porch, then when they get scared, they run around the edge of the building (the house that they lay on is the second to last house in the row of townhouses, so it isn't far) and into one of the back porch type areas. Every home has one, they are about jail cell sized and fenced in. The cats will run into the last house's (the last house in the row of houses, the neighbor to the house that the cats sit on) back porch type thing. If you look in the house that they ran to's back porch, you see a wide open crawl space. Anyway, they live there. There is about 3-4 cats that I have seen that live there. One, is, of course, Henry. He seems really nice, and you can tell that he most likely is a stray and not just a feral cat. For the last two days I've been chilling on the other side of the fence, waiting for a chance to catch him. Today I brought him some food, and stuck it threw the gate. The gate is locked, I have tried to open it...It doesn't budge. He'll just sit there and intently listen to my voice as I talk to him. Though he is still a little skeptical of me, you can tell, he is still better with me than I would imagine with anyone else. I want to catch him, for the fact that he in so skinny, and that he deserves a better life than to live in the wild. I read somewhere that wild cats only live for a maximum of 4 years. He will sit on the other side of the gate, in arms reach, you know, if the fence wasn't there. Today I nearly got him to eat out of my hand, before I just gave up and gave him the food threw the gate. I know that once my family, or Megans family, (my friend that lives in the townhouses) sees the cat, they'll immediately decide to keep it. They would never have the heart to just tell us to send it back to the wild. I understand that the cat could be dangerous, and I don't care. I'm positive that when we get the money, and I'm talking about if we were to keep the cat, we'll take him/her to the vet and try to get it's vaccines and get the kitty all set up. So my question really is how should I go about catching it without it hating or being frightened of me forever. I know that some of you might think that it is a bad idea, but I know what "animal control" does when it gets strays. I will simply not stand for it. What is the easiest and cheapest option for tracking with a telescope so big. It is probably 11 inch diameter and 5 feet tall. I wish I had saved more money for the XT10i or downsized to the XT8i, but I wanted to go big. If you put food out for them, they are going to fight for it, no matter if there is plenty for all. we get strays around our house alot, and we use a live animal trap to catch them. most of ours are female, so we take them and get them fixed then let them go. But for a male you can take him to a shelter or let him loose somewhere far from your house. I know alot of people say if you do that then it wont survive but cats are natural hunters and do not rely on humans to feed them. I ask this because we have recently noticed my cat artemis which is a male, that we are thinking he may not have been fixed all the way. The reason would be that they are from different translations of the bible so even though they are the same text when it has been translated it is read differently. the first one is the King James version, the second is from the NIV or new international version and the last one is from another translation so therefore the wording is going to slightly different which means reading in this way different interpretations come into play.

Cat has green liquidy/soft poop, what to do?

My cat is about 8 months, he was a stray we took in & got fixed. We had no problems with him until recently. A few weeks ago he started leaving poop droplets everywhere & was leaking from his butt. HELP! WILL THIS CHANGE ME?

I've only been eating fruits and vegetables (and nuts for the protein) for about a while now. I actually used to live like this strictly last year but I would stray away sometimes when I would go out with friends, but I always ate as healthy as possible. It's not so much a diet, but more a life style, since I've gotten so used to it. I actually ate an oat bagel with strawberry cream cheese yesterday and today and I feel really guilty about that...but it keeps me full. I lost 40 pounds last year, and haven't gained any weight back, but I want to lose some more. I used to run a mile a day but now I increased it to 2-3 miles, and I'm continuing to increase it. I currently weight 175-180 (it keeps changing :/) and am a 5'6 female. I guess I carry my weight really well though, but I have this pouch of chub on my lower belly area that I REALLY want to get rid of. I really really really love running, so will that do it for me if I continue doing this? Will I get an almost flat stomach if I run 3 miles everyday and eat healthy in 2 months? I hate those stupid exercise tapes...they make me feel so silly, haha.

Cat died after possibly ingesting something poisonous?

Four days ago, after being fine all morning, I noticed my cat was uncontrollably drooling, and sitting in one spot acting strangely. I tried giving her water, and cleaning the drool off, but she continued to drool constantly. I had no money to see a vet, and scoured the internet for answers as to why this was happening, and prayed that she was just going to throw up, and be okay. After about 40 minutes after noticing her drooling, She went into some sort of seizure/fit (meowing and jumping into walls accompanied by very heavy breathing, then just laid on my bathroom floor. after about ten minutes of sitting with her on the floor she died right in front of me. This is by far one of the hardest things I've ever been through, as I loved this cat very much (took her in as a stray about 8 years ago, and for some reason she only seemed to trust me out of my family, and was very skittish around others. Yet, she slept with me every night, and would practically never leave me alone. I'm assuming she had a history of abuse.) As my family didn't have much money, we weren't able to take her to the vet, but knew that she had obviously been spayed, and such. She could have possibly been up to four years old I'd say when we took her in. I took very good care of her, and she was always happy, and healthy seeming. (forgot, she looked to be an almost pure-bred Persian cat). My question is that after her dying, I noticed a spot where she had been drooling right before dying, and it looks almost as if there is glitter in it. I can't find anything with glitter, or anything like that in my home. Anyone have any ideas. I'm hoping this was a death due to some sudden illness, or freak occurrence, rather than poisoning, as I'm having so much trouble dealing with the guilt of not being able to take here to a vet.

Basically, it's an unmanned satellite that is always in orbit around the Earth. As you can imagine form the name, it also has a very powerful telescope on it. This means that (since the view form the telescope isn't burdened by the Earth's atmosphere) astronomers can get much clearer and accurate images of the distant cosmos. Since it is unmanned, it means that we have to control it from down here on Earth.

I recently got a kitten, she is almost a year old. When I first introduced her to my 3 year old Jack Russell, she would hiss at him and he would wine. The second time, they seemed to be fine together. It's been a month since we've had her, but I'm not sure how much longer I should wait before leaving them together while we're not home. They seem to be getting along pretty good, I can tell that my Jack Russell is a bit uncomfortable around her, especially when she tries to rub up against him (he growls a bit too). She's very play-full so sometimes she will jump on him and bite him, he only growls a bit. He's never tried to snap at her. We used to have guinea pigs, and he tried to snap at them no matter how much we disciplined him (Probably because JRTs are hunters) He used to growl at stray cats outside but now he seems to be more interested in birds.
